Specifying this panel
Star-delta only works if the load is light at start. A third of the current also means a third of the torque, and a loaded conveyor or a positive-displacement pump will not turn on it.
Open transition puts a current spike through the motor at the changeover — sometimes larger than a DOL start. Specify closed transition on anything where that spike matters.
The motor must be delta-wound for the running voltage, with all six leads brought out to the terminal box. A star-connected motor cannot be started this way.
