Choosing between them
Ladder tray is the most common and most economical type, and gives the cables maximum ventilation. Solid-bottom tray eliminates cable sag and gives the most protection. Perforated sits between the two.
The finish is a siting decision, not a budget one. HDGI is for outdoor, coastal, humid and harsh industrial runs. GI covers roughly seventy per cent of ordinary industrial use — cost-effective, and self-healing where a scratch exposes the steel. Powder coating gives the best finish but is indoor only: in direct sunlight it fades and peels.
