Specifying this panel
The contacts are direct-opening: a welded contact is forced apart mechanically by the actuator, so the circuit breaks even when the contact block has failed. A standard NC contact does not do this.
Never route an emergency stop through the PLC. It goes to a safety relay or a safety-rated input, so a processor fault or a scan halt cannot leave the stop unanswered.
Stop category 0 removes power immediately; category 1 brings the drive to a controlled stop first, then removes power. Category 1 is the right choice where an immediate stop is itself dangerous — a spinning saw, a loaded hoist.
