Theatres and ICU were running on conventional RCD-protected circuits, where a single earth fault would disconnect the supply — the behaviour a Group 2 medical location must avoid.

The hospital could not close; every theatre had to remain available, and clinical teams released areas only at short notice around the surgical list.

The trust wanted genuine, warranted product throughout, with documentation their authorised engineer could certify.

We supplied medical isolating transformers with continuous insulation monitoring for the Group 2 areas, so a first earth fault now alarms rather than tripping a theatre mid-procedure.

Distribution boards, changeover and protection were supplied genuine and authorised-channel, and our team installed them one theatre at a time in windows released by the clinical staff, with a tested fallback to restore the original supply if a window closed early.

The changeover transfer timing was commissioned and witnessed by the trust's authorised engineer, with results recorded per circuit.
